How Schools Use It
Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS)
serves more than 13,200 students in grades pre-K through 12 in Albemarle County, Virginia
"In addition to using Blackboard Collaborate as a professional
development tool, there are limitless possibilities for using Blackboard
Collaborate to promote cross-curricular projects between schools across
grade levels. One example is 6th grade social studies students would
conduct research using a digital tool and create a digital project and
present rough drafts to 11th grade students using Blackboard Collaborate.
In turn, the 11th grade students would promote and model digital
citizenship and responsibility by using Blackboard Collaborate to interact
with the presentations and provide feedback prior to project completion.
This project also highlights an example of how Blackboard Collaborate
would be used to strengthen and build a greater sense of community
across our school district." - James E. Foreman
