2. Who We Are
Quiky is a student-run startup that
empowers college students by allowing
them to find flexible work without breaking
their schedules.
Nick Condry Colin McFaul
3. Our Vision
“Earning money should be simple.”
Businesses have more money than time, and
college students have more time than money.
We’re here to balance that equation.
4. A Platform for Everyone
Quiky provides a platform where any college
student can interview once to receive
access to short-term job postings.
Quiky Partners work on their own time. You
choose which jobs you want, and which you
don’t. Take 5 jobs a week, or none,
depending on your schedule.
5. Our Values
Our business is based on one key factor:
Customer Service.
We break this down into 5 components:
1) Friendliness
2) Alertness
3) Knowledge
4) Attitude
5) Posture
6. Friendliness
We are in the customer service business
and what we do is serve and please people.
It is our job to be gracious and friendly at
every job regardless of context.
Remember to smile! -- it’s the little things
that will take you the furthest.
7. Alertness
This begins with arriving at work early with
energy, excitement, and a genuine desire to
do your best.
We expect our partners to be able to adapt
and perform in different environments. Be
aware of your surroundings and always think
about what else you can do to help.
8. Knowledge
You were accepted as a partner because
you have the tools to succeed.
Stay relaxed but confident. All of the details
for your job are included in the qualification
test. When in doubt, don’t be afraid to ask a
manager or a supervisor for direction.
9. Attitude
You must always be positive and active!
Our partners are excited to work and are
prepared to take on whatever tasks are
thrown their way.
When you arrive at a job, you leave your
outside cares at the door and project a
professional and upbeat face.
10. Posture
All partners should stand tall with a look of
confidence that will tell the client they know
what they are doing.
When at work, you should not slouch or
lean. Professionalism is a must, and we trust
our partners to maintain a competent image.
11. Expectations
“With great flexibility comes great
responsibility.”
When you apply for a job, you are committing
to it. Failure to attend a job will result in the
immediate termination of your partnership.
If an unexpected medical or family emergency
arises, you should immediately notify your job
manager.
12. Types of Work
While we will eventually expand to cover all
kinds of work, we’re focusing on 4 main
verticals to start with:
1) Canvassing
2) Event Staffing
3) Data Entry
4) Catering
13. Canvassing
Political and other organizations require
workers to walk door-to-door over a pre-
selected route to raise awareness for a
cause or ask basic questions.
Example: You might be tasked with knocking on
every door on 3 streets and asking residents
who they are planning to vote for in an
upcoming election.
14. Event Staffing
In 2014 there were 844 conventions and
meetings in Washington DC. These events
frequently require short-term staff to greet
guests and answer basic questions among
other tasks.
Example: You might be tasked with greeting
guests and signing them into an event on an
iPad.
15. Data Entry (Clerical Work)
Offices routinely need extra hands to help
with filing, data entry, and other simple
administrative tasks.
Example: A company may need you to answer
phone lines or find the address of every local
Mexican restaurant and input them into an
excel spreadsheet.
16. Catering
You will need to pass a service test to qualify
for catering positions.
Events often require additional hands serving
food.
Example: A caterer might require workers to
serve food from a buffet at a holiday party.
17. How Jobs Work
1) How to sign up for jobs
i. How to qualify
2) How payments are processed
3) How to earn more
4) General policies
18. Signing Up for a Job
1) View our job listings at quik.work,
quikyjobs.com, or sign up for our job
newsletter.
2) Find a job you want, then take the
qualification course
3) Once you’re qualified, you simply sign up –
no interviews, no hassle
4) Sign the job contract, confirming that you
have the job.
19. Qualifying for a Job
While you won’t have to interview for any jobs,
you will have to qualify. This means you must
know the basic details of who you’ll be working
for, what you’ll be doing, where the job is, etc.
For every job, we’ll provide a brief dossier with
all the required information. You’ll read the
dossier, take a brief test confirming the details,
and then you can take the job.
20. Processing Payments
“Go to work, get paid, same day, no hassle.”
Quiky provides work, and pay, when you need
it. Once you complete a job, you’ll immediately
be given a check with your earnings.
Each job has a standard base pay of $10/hr.
Some jobs may offer more, but no job will offer
less.
21. Earning More
We offer three main ways to earn more
money through Quiky: external recruitment,
internal recruitment, and GPA boosts.
22. External Recruitment
The more workers we have, the more jobs we
can take, and the more options our workers
have.
Workers can contact us to receive a
recruitment link. For every 20 friends that apply
through their link, we’ll pay the recruiter $20.
This is a great opportunity for well connected
students at newly reached colleges.
23. Internal Recruitment
“Friends work better together.”
We want friends to work together. Once you
sign up for a job, you can invite your friends
who are Quiky Partners to take the job with
you. If they accept, you’ll each receive an extra
$1/hr.
Example: If you invite 5 friends to work with you
on a canvassing job, you’ll earn $15/hr and
they’ll each earn $11/hr.
24. GPA Boost
We value academic excellence at Quiky.
You’ll earn a constant $0.10 extra for every
tenth of a point your GPA is above 3.0. To
receive this bonus, you’ll need to submit an
up-to-date transcript every semester.
Example: If you have a GPA of 3.7, your
base pay rate will be $10.70/hr before other
bonuses.
