The reason for this is because nearly all the students from our school range from this age

¼ are male. To make the results more equal we could balance out participants on our
next questionnaire, therefore the number of male and female should be the same.

By looking at the bar chart we can tell, that ¼ prefer slow paced sound whereas ¾ prefer
build up sound. By majority’s choice we can use ‘build up’ music in our main task which
will be an advantage for us as the views are extreme likely to enjoy watching it.

for a thriller opening?

According to the participants choice, it shows that ¾ of them prefer Times New Roman
which can be understandable as it seems to be best suited for thriller, leaving ¼ with
Impact. We can tell from this that a lot of people expect simple and old type of text in
thriller movies, rather than neoteric or sophisticated ones.

6. What images do you like to see in a
thriller opening?

According to the participants choice, it seems that ½ of them have chosen blood leaving the
rest with Loneliness, Murder and Death. Blood has always been in thriller movies as the
colour is red and it connotes danger, so the audience would definitely like to see it and the
results also proves that its a fact.

According to the participants choice, we find out that ¾ them prefer the eyes as it seems to
be the most mysterious and ¼ wanting to see the face. The eyes can tell a lot about a
person so the audience would probably want to see the eyes. If the face is shown than we
can see what the characters like.

8. What is the best location/scenery for a thriller
movie? (Please state and explain why)
Here are the answers that we received.
• “Abandoned House or alone in a house”- you can relate to it.
• “A haunted house because this creates a great atmosphere”
• “Dark and empty scene- deserted. Because it makes it more interesting and
suspicious.
• “A graveyard as it builds suspense and it makes me want to carry watching”.
By looking at the answers that’s written above, we found out that the participants
enjoy it when the scenery is set in a isolated and dark place as it suits the mood of
thriller. From reading the answers we have decided to locate our filming in a
deserted place where there is no one to be seen around expect the characters, this
makes it look interesting as it creates a tense atmosphere which makes the
audience to sit on the edge of their chairs.
