Dear Hiring Manager:
I am ready for the position advertised being open with your company recently. I am a research assistant, who is
skilled in Matlab, Labview, responsible for one Navy research using GUI Matlab to design three control panels for
Nonlinear fitting and Gaussian fitting of data processing. Recently, I am responsible for signal plotting from the
IMON spectrometer by Labview and an amplifier design for research. I am confident that I have good mathematics
calculation. I offer significant skills and knowledge in the areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for six
years. Also, I have hardware and softwareskills. I am familiar with VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated circuit) logic
circuits by using Cadence to accomplish a variety of gates, especially D flip-flop, latch, 8 bit comparator and realize
adding echoes and plot thewave by changing and combining two source codes in OpenGL. Through Simulink I can
test the controllability and observability of system in control system. By using single board, I study C to complete
different functions. Through short time, I complete the Fortran learning to calculate the matrix, eigenvalues and
eigenvectors. I have studied Probability and random process, using Matlab to build a probability model to calculate
the probability for different situations. In addition, I studied a number of other courses focusing on linear system
analysis, applied electromagnetics, computer architecture and design, microwave engineering, softwareengineering,
radar system, biosensor and nano-technology. Furthermore, I use my rest time to keep learning VHDL to design
some simple gates now and buy a Papellio 250k FPGA board to design. Now I would like to bring all my 6 years
expertise and knowledge to your company.
My ability to work as a team player, meet challenges and enhance my skills, together with my enthusiasm, have
contributed to my successes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. At the beginning of my GUI design as a
research assistant for Navy Research, I am not familiar with GUI function, and I use very short time to make a
prototype with the function of open binary file button, plot two pictures in two axles, set parameters through edit
box, start button for data processing, save button to export into excel file. I would like to talk to my colleagues. I
always get more ideas from these communications. Then I change the prototypeinto three control panels for three
sensors, Katie sensor, distributed sensor and long pigtail sensor. At the same time, if I uncheck the radio button, the
edit column will be wiped from the angle of customers. Moreover, sponsors always give me more challenges. They
hope they can pause the data processing and process the multiple data simultaneously. By the way, sponsors don’t
have high resolution screen, so all the panels for them are too big. According to their requests, I resize my panels,
and accomplish the pause function by using toggle button and use matrix mathematics to reshape the data for
processing to realize the multiple processing and show the file name in the edit column. Now I begin to make a
control panel to launch the spectrometer and get the signal to plot on thepanel. Especially, the old design has some
corruption problems. So I try to solve this problem.
