"Certainly a category leader, this little Tasmanian vineyard is making a big
Impression with this stunning pinot gris. With deeper colour and convincing
complexity on the nose, this delivers plenty of ripe fruit and richness, a
steely edge as well there’s honeyed melon and ginger, almost viognier like.
The palate has a smooth, creamy middle palate texture, with flavours of
poached pear and apple tarte tatin, some grilled nuts too. Very long spiced
custard flavour at the finish and some fresh shortcrust pastry.
Truly complex and engaging wine works a charm!"

East Coast Tasmiania is our most consistent region, producing luscious,
forward and deeply perfumed Pinot Noir.       The bulk of this fruit is
contracted to Hardies for the Bay of Fires and Arras wines. Every year
Jack produces a few hundred cases of 100% estate fruit just to show off.

"The good news about Winstead is the outstanding quality of its extremely
generous and rich Pinot Noirs, rivalling those of Freycinet for the
abundance of their fruit flavour without any sacrifice of varietal character.
The bad news is that production is so limited, with only 0.8 ha of pinot noir
and 0.4 ha riesling being tended by fly fishing devotee Neil Snare and wife
Julieanne" James Halliday

Neil Snare has really got his ducks in a row. Young vines and some
declassified oldvine fruit combine to deliver one of the great value Pinot
Noir wines of the moment. Raspberry and dark cherry fruits here with a
warmth and roundness amid bright upbeat acidity and silky smooth texture.

Focusing on elegance, structure and perfume while he turns his back on the
jammy Grenache styles so many producers are attempting to create. These
are wines of great complexity and massive ageworthiness. These are must

An emerging superstar of the Tamar Valley, showing amazing consistency
over the last 5 vintages in bottle and an enviable book of customers for their
fruit. Now with fully mature vines, they’are now making a serious crack at
the premium wine market. The Pinot and Riesling are consistent show and
Trophy winners.

Decomposing granetic over heavy clay

Ok I know I specialise in Tasmanian wines, but surely an indulgence is
allowed? I love cold climate, spicy, intense, food loving Shiraz. On this
assesment this is one of the best quality Shiraz around. Using knowledge
gained while working for Sergio Carlei at Green Vineyards, Matt has
guided the Metcalfe Valley Vineyards and Chookshed through a biodynamic
conversion. We are going to see a great vineyard, with already great wines,
truly announce itself as a benchmark wine in an already crowded Australian
Shiraz scene.

Deep red Ferrosol

New owner and winemaker Shane Holloway reflects, One of the greatest
feelings as a young winemaker is to have the opportunity to be so close and
connected to the winemaking process from the vineyard to the bottle.

Delamere is one of the original vineyards planted in the Pipers Brook
region. The fertile soils on the property had previously lent themselves to
the successful establishment of a wonderfully diverse fruit orchard and
market garden. It was the pioneering vision of Richard and Dallas
Richardson that in 1981 saw the more elevated areas of the property planted
out to the classic cool climate cultivars of pinot noir and chardonnay. Over
the last 25 years Delamere has forged a reputation as one of T    asmania’s
premium wine producers of both table and sparkling wines.

              Manoir du Kinkiz: Cidre de Cornouailles
A tradional cidre that shows a very "rustic" character. The producers do
not use modern techniquies to "protect" the juice which allows for a bevvy
of wild yeasts to run rampant during the fermentation proccess. This style
of cidre production is the stuff of nightmares for modern industrial cideries.
There is a massive variation from one batch to the next, something the
french applaud as "terrior" with its etheral combination of soil, climate and
vintage variation.

                     Winstead Blanc de Noirs 2004
A "white of blacks" sparkling which is 100% Pinot Noir from the bitterly cold
vintage in 2004. A bad year for Red wine but perfect for Bubbles as it
yielded grapes with low sugar levels and high acid levels. This low sugar/
high acid combination is what make’s a great sparking wine and a perfect
cleanser when paired with a cheese as rich as this one.

"The good news about Winstead is the outstanding quality of its extremely generous and rich Pinot Noirs, rivalling those of Freycinet for the abundance of their fruit flavour without any sacrifice of varietal character. I love cold climate, spicy, intense, food loving Shiraz. On this assesment this is one of the best quality Shiraz around. Using knowledge gained while working for Sergio Carlei at Green Vineyards, Matt has guided the Metcalfe Valley Vineyards and Chookshed through a biodynamic conversion. We are going to see a great vineyard, with already great wines, truly announce itself as a benchmark wine in an already crowded Australian Shiraz scene. Delamere Pipers River Winemaker/ Viticuluturalist: Shane Holloway Deep red Ferrosol New owner and winemaker Shane Holloway reflects, One of the greatest feelings as a young winemaker is to have the opportunity to be so close and connected to the winemaking process from the vineyard to the bottle. Delamere is one of the original vineyards planted in the Pipers Brook region. The fertile soils on the property had previously lent themselves to the successful establishment of a wonderfully diverse fruit orchard and market garden. It was the pioneering vision of Richard and Dallas Richardson that in 1981 saw the more elevated areas of the property planted out to the classic cool climate cultivars of pinot noir and chardonnay. Over the last 25 years Delamere has forged a reputation as one of T asmania’s premium wine producers of both table and sparkling wines. Wine Year L.U.C. The producers do not use modern techniquies to "protect" the juice which allows for a bevvy of wild yeasts to run rampant during the fermentation proccess. This style of cidre production is the stuff of nightmares for modern industrial cideries. There is a massive variation from one batch to the next, something the french applaud as "terrior" with its etheral combination of soil, climate and vintage variation. Rouzaire Calendar Billat Savarin Winstead Blanc de Noirs 2004 A "white of blacks" sparkling which is 100% Pinot Noir from the bitterly cold vintage in 2004. A bad year for Red wine but perfect for Bubbles as it yielded grapes with low sugar levels and high acid levels. This low sugar/ high acid combination is what make’s a great sparking wine and a perfect cleanser when paired with a cheese as rich as this one. Jacquin Traditional Berry Cendre Goaty Hill Pinot Noir 2008 I’ll let James Halliday do the talking on this one: "Brilliant clarity to the colour; spice and red fruit aromas, then a palate quivering with life and intensity; a long, fine finish with gossamer tannins." 94 points, drink to 2015
