Viewfinity finalist interview
1.
2. How do you feel about being named a finalist in the 2010 Tech Awards? “We are honored that our cloud-computing approach to systems and privilege management is being recognized by the MITX Technology Award judges,” said Gil Rapaport, President of Viewfinity, “Cloud systems management is gaining momentum in the market, and the model was reinforced last month through Microsoft’s Windows Intune announcement. Our cloud-computing software delivery model and extended privilege management features allow IT administrators to focus immediately on delivering services to end users.”
3. If you could describe your innovation in one succinct sentence, how would you describe yourself? Viewfinity is the innovator of systems and privilege management via cloud-computing.
4. How was your company founded, and what inspired its creation? Viewfinity is founded by serial entrepreneurs. It is in their blood, it is who they are, it is what they do. The time spent in a large software organization following the acquisition of their previous company (XOsoft), made it clear to the founders that their energy needed to be redirected into something inspiring, nimble, and challenging. They put the “band back together”, brainstormed and, with their collective technical and business know-how, Viewfinity was created.
5. What makes your company different from other companies in your market space? The Viewfinity product suite is innovative for several reasons. It is completely based in the cloud, offering a secure, cloud-delivered systems management platform that saves money on server and maintenance costs while providing excellent solutions to manage, support and control desktops, laptops and Windows servers. With our cloud-computing platform, in four easy steps and in less than ten minutes, the software can be installed and ready for evaluation. This breaks with the conventional model of systems management i.e. where a company would implement a solution that would require the addition of specialized IT personnel and the expense of purchasing, installing and maintaining servers and other necessary equipment.

8. What is your greatest asset? There are several unique dynamics that are in play at Viewfinity that are working in favor to make it successful. Viewfinity’s executive management recognizes the value of “putting the band back together” and have done just that at Viewfinity. Most of the workforce at Viewfinity has worked together at previous companies. With this model, they know the strengths and weaknesses of each other and the staff, they know how to get along, make hard decisions, and keep the business moving forward. In fact, even a current investor, JK&B Capital, was a previous investor.
