2. Audience feedback
My group and I decided to present our horror trailer to the
rest of our media class. We asked our peers to give us
there feedback on what they thought was good about our
horror trailer, and what they thought could have been
improved on.
The next few sides will consist of quotes from the
audience we showed our video to...
3. Person 1
“I thought you guys had good sense of lighting and
transitions. I also feel that the camera movement helped
add to the fear of the audience.
However, I personally think the acting could of been
improved and something I noticed was that the pace at
times towards the end didn't correlate with the music
being played.” – L.K
4. Person 2
“ I firstly would like to point out the astonishing end to your
trailer I thought it was really unique what you guys did. I
believe that the writing upon the black screen helped
massively to tell the story.
Nonetheless, the acting could of been better.” – T.R
5. Person 3
“Good typography to go with a good story line, and found
the fascinating to listen to at the beginning.
Although, we the trailer was coming to an end I wasn't
convinced that the music was horror conventional.” - G.A
6. Person 4
“I thought the fast pace towards the end made things a lot
clearer. I liked the emotional hook you left your audience
predicting what would happen next, and so makes me
want to watch it.
I noticed that you went against the norms having not
reveal the identity of the killer” – T.J; although this so
happened to be what we intended.
7. Here are some evidence of the feedback I
received from my peers.
The grids were divided into the sections of:
Shooting material
Editing
Sound
Plot, narrative and themes
They had the option of choosing whether it was:
Minimal
Basic
Proficient
Excellent
8. After perfecting our poster until be
believed we were happy with it, we
showed it to our peers to receive
feedback.
After doing as much as we could to
producing a magazine front page, we
showed it to our peers to receive
feedback, already in mind that what
we’ve created isn't up to the very
best standards.
10. Person 1
“I liked the use of the dark colours which I found
meaningful with the connotations of
evil, mystery, danger, harm and death.
Yet, the models facial expression could have been more
exaggerated. Along with the font being suitable for the
expression of the horror theme. I suggest you perhaps
replicate the blood motif onto the magazine as done of the
poster.” – L.K
11. Person 2
“The poster is absolutely superb and the iconography
relates to the caption on the poster.
Despite the fact the typography is not consistent, in other
words the typography in the magazine does not match up
with the poster and in the trailer itself. Also, the white font
on the magazine front cover clashes with the
background.” – G.A
12. Person 3
“I didn’t see the link as the font on the magazine cover
was different to what was on the poster and in the trailer.
The all the colors used on the magazine suited the horror
theme and therefore goes against the codes and
conventions of horror.” – T.R
13. Overall feedback
Overall, I am really pleased with the feedback we
received from the group of people we targeted our trailer
to. The majority of the comments were really positive. The
few negative comments we did receive I feel were either
due to things which we could not control or issues with
inconsistency.
I feel that through the process of receiving feedback on
my horror trailer, I have learned a lot about how to make
trailers in the future. The man thing I have learned is that
good artists borrow and great artists steal.
14. Reflection
Looking back at all of our audience feedback I think I
would change some of the narrative in the trailer so that
people could understand it easier as it was quite complex.
I would also make major changes to the magazine. I can
fairly say that not much thought and time had gone into
forming an achievable magazine.
