4. About Us
Company owner and Managing Director, Terry Tapsell, is a trade certified fitter and turner, ASME IX
welder and boiler-maker with 40 years’ experience in the engineering sector. He has worked on major
sites in Australia and New Zealand.
Terry established PFW in 2009 to meet demand for crews of professional tradesmen to undertake
site-focused projects and maintenance work. He knows personally the over 100 tradesmen on PFW’s
manning list and matches skill-sets with project requirements. He has effectively built a team of
professional fitters and welders who understand the stringent quality requirements of the different
engineering sectors.
PFW is a New Zealand registered company – Pro-Fit and Weld Ltd – and has a branch in
Australia – Pro-Fit and Weld (Australia) Pty Ltd – which is ASIC and ABN/ACN registered.
5. Industries
PFW operates across most engineering sectors including oil & gas, petroleum, mining,
pulp & paper, dairy, meat-works and power generation – geothermal, gas and hydro.
Formed in 2009, our tradesmen have worked together on major construction projects in
Australia and New Zealand.
Services
PFW offers clients site-focussed trades support services. The company specialises
in managing particular areas of larger projects or supplying complete personnel
requirements for smaller projects.
Typically PFW would provide up to twenty tradesmen and supervisors but has the
capacity to increase these numbers as required. A continuous focus on quality is
maintained on all jobs.
We are not a labour hire company. We know the over 100 tradesmen on our manning list
personally and will put together the best tradesmen with the right skill-set for the project
at hand.
Health, Safety and Environment
The PFW team has an excellent HS&E record on all jobs and is committed to
maintaining a high level of health and safety on and off site. HS&E documentation and
references are available on request.
