• In order to make sense of some of the terms used in this blog,
here’s a short glossary.
– Software: Test creation software, test generation software, test maker
software
– Legacy Content: tests that have been saved in a digital file, this could
include files exported from a previous software program or files used to
create paper-and-pencil tests.
– File Format: Content saved in MS Word, Excel, .csv, .txt. .rtf, or some
other file type
– Item: A question to include answers
– Test: A collection of items
– Content: A test, item or a collection of same
– Question Bank: A container for items organized around a specific topic

fixed idea as to how they will conduct their testing based on
the properties/behaviors used in the old software.
• Chances are, other than the basics, that the customer may
have to modify their approach based on the new software.
• It’s always a good idea to set up an online demo session and
provide the prospective vendor with a list of your
requirements in advance of the demo.
• Even better would be a personalized online demo that is
scheduled exclusively for you and any team members that
you’d like to participate.
