Kirkpatrick Model
• Whether you refer to performance measurements as tests,
assessments, exams, quizzes, surveys or test papers, it's but
one step in the evaluation process.
• And for those of you who follow the Kirkpatrick's Four Levels
of Learning Evaluation, you know that Level 2 is the testing
phase, pre- and post-test assessments following the initial
'training or learning experience.

The Purpose
• The Kirkpatrick model is designed to yield results with
assessments as the Level 2 activity.
• The levels that follow are, in part, contingent on the quality of
the assessment provided by the test author to the testing
audience.
• We'd like to assume that the Level 2 assessment will
accurately present and measure the learning objectives
defined in Level 1.
• Each step comes with its own set of challenges and none
more prone to error than testing.
