The Texas State Troopers Association is a voluntary labor organization that provides a variety of benefits to employees of the Texas Department of Public Safety. There are many benefits to joining our organization.
2. About the Texas State Troopers
Association
The Texas State Troopers Association is a voluntary labor
organization of commissioned officers and retirees of the
Texas Department of Public Safety.
The Association provides a number of benefits to its
members, which includes accidental death and
dismemberment insurance, legal counsel and
representation in matters related to the good faith
performance of their duties as law enforcement officers,
free preparation of a Last Will and Testament, advocacy
before the Texas Legislature, and financial assistance to
Troopers and their families in times of crisis and
extraordinary need.
3. Free Last Will &
Testament
The last will and testament service is
offered free of charge for every
TSTA member and his or her spouse.
Our members typically take
advantage of this free service
whenever a new member is added to
their families, but this is offered at
any time.
4. Free AD&D Insurance
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is
given to the family of the TSTA member, and it
goes up to $4000. Whether it was on vacation or
while working on the job as a state trooper, as long
as it is an accidental death the insurance pays, or it
is a dismemberment or loss of limb accident the
insurance pays.
5. Emergency Assistance
Flood waters from hurricane ruined their home. Electricity
was out and all their food ruined. Furniture, computers
& TV’s all ruined. Homeowners insurance covered some, but
not all--not motel bills or insurance deductible. TSTA
members got an immediate assistance check through their
membership.
6. As a member of the Department of Public
Service, state troopers are typically given
legal counsel through the state, however
not always. With the $25 dues, the Texas
State Troopers Association will provide
legal assistance regardless of whether or
not DPS will assist.
The Texas State Troopers Association
works tirelessly to represent their members.
TSTA works closely with senators and
state representatives to bring about
positive results for its members.
