Meadows!
Nestlé Butterfly Meadows
• Nestlé have decided to help the declining UK butterfly population by planting nearly 75
acres of meadows in order to attract over ten varieties of butterflies
• They are hoping to attract species such as the Large White, Red Admiral, the Small
Copper, Wall Brown and the Meadow Brown
• Those nearby plan to record butterfly sightings with a new app!
Why?
• Approximately 60% of animal and plant species studied have declined over the last fifty
years
• The British butterfly population is continuously declining
• Beetles and wildflowers are also vulnerable
• There is a long term and on-going deterioration of butterfly
habitats across the countryside*
