Honda set
to expand
HONDA has announced the

They will be a three-

1.5 litre and 2.0 litre variants.
Crossover
for Nissan
NISSAN is marking the
arrival of the next generation
crossover with the Qashqai
Premier Limited Edition.
It will be reserved for
existing Nissan customers
until December 31.
Car output
on the rise
CAR output in October rose
17.4 per cent to 160,854 units,
the largest monthly increase
so far this year.
A total of 1,286,287 cars
were produced in the year-to-
date, a rise of 5.4 per cent.
THIS is the car that sees
Porsche expand into the
compact SUV market.
The Macan was revealed at
the LA Auto Show and is now
available to order, with
deliveries from April.
Porsche says the Macan
“brings proven Porsche values
of maximum acceleration and
braking performance, vast
engine power, extreme agility
and optimum steering
precision for the first time to
the compact sports utility
vehicle segment”.
It is promising that the new
model will “set new standards”
in the market.
You’ll have to hope that it
will, because, priced between
£43,300 to £59,300, it needs to be
the best compact crossover
there is by a big gap.

THE latest take on a motoring
icon has been revealed.
The new MINI will take to the
roads next spring.
Believe it or not, the modern
version of the brand has been on
the roads since 2001 and, despite
the new car still being instantly
recognisable, MINI says it is
completely new from the ground
up, with every component going
back to the drawing board.
The result, apparently, is “The
New Original”, which the firm
says “is distinctly familiar but
enhanced in every single way”.
MINI says there are
“significant improvements” in
technology, engine efficiency
and power delivery, driving
dynamics, quality and – of
course – personalisation.
It says that inside, the new
MINI Hatch is quieter than the
outgoing model, with
improvements to acoustic
refinement in the cabin.
MINI also says the new car is
more spacious than before, safer,
finished to an even higher
standard and provides the driver
with a more dynamic and
performance-oriented
experience behind the wheel.
Inside the cabin is a new LED
display concept, the first of its
kind, says MINI, which provides
the driver with visual feedback
while operating the car and
creates a “premium ambience”,
whatever that is.
MINI says that it “reflects a
maturity and confidence in the
brand’s design and engineering,
a car which pays tribute to its
unique British heritage yet
stands ready to lead MINI into
the second half of the decade
and beyond”.
The new MINI Cooper Hatch
will have a three-cylinder petrol
engine with a peak output of
134bhp. The Cooper S Hatch will
be powered by a four-cylinder
petrol engine, which develops
189bhp.
Finally, the Cooper D Hatch
comes with a three-cylinder
diesel engine with an output of
114bhp.
MINI claims that one will have
a combined economy of 80.7mpg.
Pricing will be £15,300 for the
entry car; £16,450 for the D and
£18,650 for the S.
