2. Step 1: Gather Pieces
• Peepholes come in two parts.
The part with the lens faces
outwards.
3. Step 2: Drill Hole
• Choose a position for the peephole,
considering the average height of a
person (5ft 7”) and the height of
those who will be opening the door
and using the peephole.
• Mark this position with a pencil and
drill a mounting hole there using a
drill bit that is a fraction larger than
the peephole.
• To avoid splintering the door, drill
very slowly and stop just as the drill
bit breaks through the surface at
the far side of the door, then drill
through from the other side.
4. Step 3: Sand
• Sand the hole on both sides to
leave a smooth finish.
5. Step 4: Fit Peephole
• Insert the two halves and
screw the barrel of the
peephole together firmly by
hand.
• Use a wide screwdriver or the
back of a kitchen knife to
tighten the peephole fully.
