This Toyota hybrid was first introduced to American drivers around 2000, but the
development of this eco-friendly car actually began long before then. In fact, Toyota first
began developing the Hybrid Synergy Drive System around 1992! What was the
public’s response when the first-generation of this eco-friendly car arrived?

Generally speaking, the drivers raved about this new Toyota hybrid. After all, the
first generation did deliver a fuel economy of about 52/45 mpg! However, there
