3. HISTORY OF EBOLA VIRUS
Ebola first appeared in 1976 in two simultaneous
outbreaks.
- Near the Ebola River in the Democratic
Republic of Congo
- A remote area of Sudan.

person
− Result in high mortality rates and have the potential for
major public health impact.
− Might cause public panic and social disruption.
