DART is a critical part of our vision for Information ExcellenceTo enhance and sustain the lifelong engagement of University of Michigan alumni, volunteers, donors, and prospective donors, through the disciplined, respectful, and creative use of data. There are design teams made up of representatives and experts from all over the university. These teams are collaborating with our vendor, Blackbaud. They are collaborating to customize the product and make sure it meets all of our needs when we Go Live.University-wide investment to:Enhance online giving to provide seamless ability for alumni and donors to contribute to various funds efforts and campaignsProvide capability for seamless tracking of all touch points with constituents, includind automated tracking of email and preferencesEnable better information integration with the university’s financial systemReduce the need for supplemental and shadow systemsMeet U-M compliance needs in an efficient and effective manner
  2. As DART will have university-wide impact, cross-campus participation in its design and customization has been critical. To date, we have approximately 14 design teams working on the project and over 100 representatives from schools, colleges, and units.You’ll see in this timeline that our Go Live target is Aug. 2011. Our plans for how to prepare staff and support them through this transition have been intertwined with design efforts. But you can expect to learn in much more detail the kinds of resources we’ll provide to make sure everyone is ready in August.In particular, I want to share a decision that Program Managers and other Development leadership made this summer. That is, each unit will have a designated representative – called a Unit Liaison – who will meet with the project team to learn about all the changes and impacts DART will have on your unit. These Unit Liaisons (ULs) will also help identify potential testers and pilot some of the new training materials that the team is working on.

If you’ve missed it, you can also get to it through In the Know. If you have a question that’s not answered in our online FAQ, please send us an email. You may have attended one of our previews last February, and we expect to host more of those across campus this year.
