kind of media institution
might distribute your film and
why?

2. Basic Information
A media institution is an established organization that deal in the
creation and distribution of advertising media products similar to
mine.
A film distributor is a company (or even an individual) responsible
for the marketing of a film. For example, the distributer might set the
release date of a film and the method by which a film is to be made
available for viewing (DVD, download).
A production company helps to create a film by assisting in the
budgeting, scheduling, scripting, casting and more. The company is
responsible for almost everything when making a film because they
find a director and the majority of the acting talent required; they
look over a film from when its just an idea to completion.

3. Why is it important?
Media distribution is the key final process involved in making a
film successful because it is important to consider carefully how a
film should be distributed, in this case my opening sequence, to
ensure it creates success.

4. Two choices we had
After doing lots of research on what a film distributer is and its
importance, we had two companies to pick from. One of them was
Film4 Productions and the other ones was Vertigo Films. The two
choices will benefit the the film because they are both located in
the UK and are both very popular, which will bring success to the
film!
 Vertigo Films is a British film production company owned by
Channel Four Television Corporation.
 Vertigo Films is also a British film production company based in
London, England.

5. Final conclusion
After careful consideration, we came to a
conclusion to choose Vertigo Films as
our distributor because they are more
associated with the type of genre our
movie is going for than Film4 is. They
have a good reputation in distributing
British films such as my own. ‘A haunted
house’ (one and two) is a strong
comparison to my opening sequence that
I have researched in the planning stage
and I found out that Vertigo Films have
previously distributed it. This was the
main fact that made me pick Vertigo
Films over Film4 because they’re
noticeably more delightful in horror/spoof
movies and have a great marketing
strategy for British films.
