To develop a statewide
map of available
broadband services and a
plan to increase
broadband adoption and
deployment in the state.

Mission
To examine the condition
of broadband adoption
and deployment in the
State of Utah and to
provide the Governor and
Legislature with
recommendations and
policy guidance related to
the findings of the
Advisory Council.

4. Application of Mapping for Planning Purposes:
Mobile Libraries
Worked with the State Librarian and
her staff to gather data about wireless
broadband availability at mobile
library stops throughout the state
Mobile Libraries provide public library service to people in
much of rural Utah who do not have access to a "brick and
mortar" library including service to institutions such as
schools, Head Start programs, and senior citizen centers.
5. For its May 2012 Broadband Map of the
Application of Mapping for Planning Purposes: Month series, the Utah Broadband Project
used a few of Utah’s rich geographic data
FCC Mobility Fund Eligibility Prioritization resources to take a more detailed look at
the Mobility Fund Eligible Areas. Three
maps were created.
