1. PowerPoint Essay
What I have learned about PowerPoint is to make sure your slides go with your
background and your clip art or your images because it can get the reader off task. Have your
background not distracting to the audience it will take away from your attention. Have large
block of text like 18 to 24 so the audience can see the text. Have 1-3 per page in your
PowerPoint and also have people proofread for spell check and grammar errors and practice
saying it a couple times too. Also colors can trigger the audience mood as in red and orange is
excitement, dark blue is a calming effect, and green makes the audience comfortable.
You can brainstorm and think things like who’s the audience, do they know the material,
do they want to learn, and where will the presentation take place at and under what conditions.
You can use animation in your slide but make sure there’s not too much in the slide because it
could be distracting to the audience. Have visual images for the audience so they get what you
are trying to say to the audience. If you soft shadow and figure in your slide i can be 150%
bigger than it already is. Make sure your slide aren’t full of evidence because i can get boring for
the audience fast.
When you present for your PowerPoint make sure you don’t just read right off your slide
and you should face the audience when you present. Also keep your hands away from your face
and also be loud enough so the audience can here. Before you present you should practice it a
few times so you get a chance to remember so you can just say it from your head. Also when you
present a PowerPoint make sure you know what you're saying and not just going up and having
no what you’re even saying.
