INTRODUCTORY
              We are very thankful to you for giving us your valuable time to
             viewing our presentation to focus on disaster in the school .In our
             team we are four members Utsav,Chirag,Akshit,Mahaveer want to
             present a very concerning topic about safety of student in school.
             In this presentation we want to draw your attention to the school
             safety and hygenicity.In this presentation we take you to a brief

DISASTERS IN SCHOOL

    Schools play a versatile role in the communities and hence the impacts of

 disasters on schools are pervasive. Quality of education is affected as the

 learning to quality education in all environment gets distorted. Access to schools

 becomes circumstances limited due to shelters occupancy and bad Inclusion

 Access communication channels. Both these impacts have cumulative and long

 term effects in communities and hence inclusion. Recent events of child deaths

 due to building collapse and fire accidents bring to light the need to be

 continually vigilant to ensure the safety of students and staff in schools.

EARTHQUAKE
 An earthquake is the result of a sudden release of energy in the

 Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. The seismicity, seismic or

 seismic activity of an area refers to the frequency, type and size of

 earthquakes experienced over a period of time.

          In school earthquake can be take the type of death causing

 disaster very quickly. This can destroy the whole building of school

 and being cause of death of many people.

Building damage could be a man made or natural disaster. If building of is


very old and does not cared properly or if the foundation of building of school


is not made properly or if there is some mistake in formation. The building


damage is either of small scale or of high scale. May be there is loss of


property and lives of students which is very valuable.

WHAT IS PREPARNESS

             Preparedness is how we change behavior to limit the impact of


       disaster events on people. Preparedness is a continuous cycle of


          planning, managing, organizing, training, equipping, exercising,


      creating, evaluating, monitoring and improving activities to ensure


          effective coordination and the enhancement of capabilities of


       concerned organizations to prevent, protect against, respond to,


    recover from, create resources and mitigate the effects of natural


          disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters.

Inclusion of Disaster
            Management in the
                       curriculum
    Inclusion of Disaster Management in the curriculum: To reduce vulnerability, the

Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), with support from Ministry of Home

Affairs (MHA) and Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have incorporated Disaster

Management as part of its frontline curriculum in Social Science for class VIII, IX,

X and XI (Sociology and Geography). The success of this initiative at the national

level has encouraged the State Education Boards of the country to have the subject

as part of its curriculum.

Awareness Campaigns
   Print, electronic and folk media have been has been widely utilized


 to generate awareness amongst the school community and parents.


 Posters, short video clippings on various hazards focusing on


 preparedness and mitigation measures have been developed by


 Government, UN agencies and NGOs. Games, puzzles, coloring activity


 books have also been developed to generate awareness on hazards


 specially targeting the primary children and children out of schools.


 Street plays and magic shows have also been used to create

CONCLUSION
  Looking at the need of the hour, and to build a culture of safety at all levels, the National Disaster
     Management Authority (NDMA) of Government of India with support from Non Governmental
   Organizations, corporate, academic institutions etc need to develop guidelines for schools which
       should reflect issues related to the education sector namely child rights and emergencies,
      integrating Disaster Risk Reduction with development, inclusion of DM as curricular and co-
   curricular activities, structural and non structural safety of educational institutions, training and
                                capacity development at various levels etc.

Inclusion of Disaster Management in the curriculum Inclusion of Disaster Management in the curriculum: To reduce vulnerability, the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE), with support from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have incorporated Disaster Management as part of its frontline curriculum in Social Science for class VIII, IX, X and XI (Sociology and Geography).
