Why do VC alumni do well in international competitions?
We all hear about silicon valley…
Verslaukorganisers has international network in dk, sweden, etc. StartupHighway in EU…
1. build your team (specific roles, commercial/tech, investors say 80/20 (team/idea) = global rule of thumb)2. advisory board (enlist experienced industry people - good for network + obviously experience: problem solving, knowledge of foreign markets, strategy guidance)3. test your assumptions! (ask as many people as possible - valuable feedback re flaws, issues, risks + saves you money: test on customer/user already w mock ups, before proto typing. Remember different cultural contexts: e.g. parfume.dk – limits to one type of product! ‘Knockups’)4. Unique? Disruptive technology ? (ground breaking...) min. 30% improvement or change compared to existing solution.5. Have fun! (passion, believe in your idea, if u don't who will? Enthusiam)
