#1 Title: Message Rate Control For IGMP Domain
FFEATUREEATURE DDESCRIPTIONESCRIPTION::
Major change has been done in ISAM by allowing for IGMP Message Rate Control per user control
channel. Automation Design and Code Implementation for IGMP Message Rate Control feature was
done as part of this feature. IGMP V3 support became functionality available from this feature
onwards for which a major chunk of new test cases have been introduced in regression batch.
RROLESOLES RRESPONSIBILITIESESPONSIBILITIES::
Preparing the Feature Automation Architecture document, Test List and Test Strategy,along with
effort estimates from the Feature Architecture and Design Document
Daily stand-up meeting of entire automation activity to Scrum Master and Worked in Sprints of 3
week duration, regulated by Sprint Planning, Review, Sprint Backlog Review, Product Backlog
Review and Sprint Retrospectives.
Selection of test cases for Manual Testing and Automation, from Feature Test List and coding of
test cases.

#2 Title: Any2Any PON Redundancy for IGMP Domain Automation
FFEATUREEATURE DDESCRIPTIONESCRIPTION::
Any2Any PON Redundancy Feature is a Major Feature extensively supporting LT Redundancy at times when
Primary User Line is at crisis, so as to ensure Users are not impacted because of any link or Node Failures that
may occur, either physically or internally, related to the equipment or interlinks at customer premises. For
IGMP Domain, All Multicast-related scenarios were covered to a large scale, with lot of testcases dedicated to
testing the complete functionality of IGMP domain
RROLESOLES RRESPONSIBILITIESESPONSIBILITIES::
Preparing the Feature Automation Architecture document, Test List and Test Strategy,along with effort
estimates from the Feature Architecture and Design Document
Agile methodology of working which helped in understanding the overall impact of this feature in both
Development and test Perspectives
Automated challenging testcases involving Switchover scenarios, Reboot scenarios extensively which won
appreciation from Top Management and Feature Responsibles.

#3 Title: Fast Reroute Functionality in MPLS - Automation
FFEATUREEATURE DDESCRIPTIONESCRIPTION::
MPLS domain functionalities were enhanced to a great extent through this feature, which converted into
significant customer deployments, in addition to the target customers. Fast Reroute(FRR) functionality
support was introduced which achieved switchover to the next best route path within few ms, in case of any
Primary Link Break scenario. This was a Critical customer impact feature and it was very successful at all
levels.
RROLESOLES RRESPONSIBILITIESESPONSIBILITIES::
Preparation of Implementation Proposal for simulating Link break scenarios For Automation
Automated significant number of new test scenarios within a short span of Two Weeks.
TTOOLSOOLS UUSEDSED:: Mercurial , STC

#4 Title: Runtime Reduction For Regression Batches
FFEATUREEATURE DDESCRIPTIONESCRIPTION::
Run time of superbatch (regression batch) has been fixed to 4 Hrs for daily version. But due to increase in the
coverage the run time has been increased to 6 Hrs. This reduced the number of builds tested per day. Thereby
run time reduction of superbatch becomes necessary.
RROLESOLES RRESPONSIBILITIESESPONSIBILITIES::
Pilot of Automation Batch execution on Linux Environment saved lot of runtime as compared to execution in
Solaris Environment, this removed dependency on Clearcase and was an effort towards moving towards a
standalone environment.
Adding to this, the pilot of Mercurial Configuration Management Tool for making an Automation Repository
helped reduce the Superbatch runtime to about 50%
Provided training session to all Feature Teams to use Mercurial and Linux Environments for Developing,
Integrating and Delivering Testcases
Played a pivotal role in Standardising the Automation Delivery Cycle using pull-me scripts that automated the
entire process of delivery and integration to a large extent
TTOOLSOOLS UUSEDSED:: Mercurial, Clearcase to mercurial porting was done
LLANGUAGEANGUAGE:: TCL, Korn Shell
#5 Title: Superbatch
FFEATUREEATURE DDESCRIPTIONESCRIPTION::
Superbatch is the only automation regression batch with different level of testing like smoke, drop, daily and
weekly. Superbatch has replaced the old 48 regression batch that was previously executed. Run time of
superbatch is very less but has more coverage (both platform and content) compared to old regression batch.
Test cases in Superbatch are completely data driven approach with all the configuration information as tables
in one data file.
5. RROLESOLES RRESPONSIBILITIESESPONSIBILITIES::
Coding and integrating the new test cases to superbatch
Fixing the ATC bugs identified during the execution of superbatch at different sites
TTOOLSOOLS UUSEDSED:: Clearcase, APME
LLANGUAGEANGUAGE:: TCL
#6 Title: Tools Developed/Enhanced using TCL/SHELL
LLAUNCHAUNCHTTESTESTBBATCHATCH::
This tool is used to launch various coverage-specific test batches in a push-button format using both CLI as
well as GUI interfaces. It is a very popular internal tool that supports about 30 kinds of batches having varied
domains/functional aspects, and serves as a boon to anyone who does automation, runs regression and
analyses TIs. It has lot of support scripts under its umbrella. This tool is a clear show-stealer amongst various
other support tools that exist for Regression in ISAM.
DDATAATA FILEFILE GGENERATIONENERATION SSCRIPTCRIPT::
The data file tool is used to dynamically generate all the data files for managers like CLI, SNMP and TL1.
Datafile contains information about physical setup. Datafile is generated based on the Release, Target or host,
Platform, etc. This script replaced around 400 static Data files in VOBs.
PCTA:PCTA:
PCTA is traffic Analyzer used for Superbatch Execution and executed on a Linux machine. This script is used
to login into PCTA, load the necessary files, cleaning of temp dir and start different process like DHCP, PPP
and PCTA demon. This avoids the Manual Intervention required during the starting of superbatch.
FFAILEDAILED LLOGOG::
The Script is used to filter the failed test case from the complete log. The Complete log is around 2 GB size
and thereby it’s very difficult to analyze the log. The separate failed log reduced the effort since most of the
problem can be identified by looking the separated log instead of looking the complete log.
