FINAL clearance for the Navi Mumbai airport is
likely to be issued in a month. The proposed second
airport for Mumbai was back on track after project
developer, City and Industrial Development
Corporation (Cidco), agreed to make design changes
to address environmental concerns.
The bulk of environmental concerns are being met.
The proposed airport will be moved a little to the
south. This shift would mean moving out the
nonaeronautical components and will not
compromise the aeronautical elements.

Customers can finally buy Tata Nano directly
from showrooms in select states as Tata
Motors moves to end booking system for the
worlds cheapest car.
Tata Motors started open sales of the Rs.1-
lakh car in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar
Pradesh and Karnataka on Tuesday, making
it possible for people to purchase the car
directly from dealers instead of booking it.
Customers in these states that have not
booked a Nano so far can now purchase the
Nano directly from showrooms, the company
said in a statement.

8. UK defends immigration limit on
Indian professionals
The UK government defended its decision to introduce an
interim limit on skilled workers from India and other
countries outside the European Union, despite concerns
raised.
The government has placed a temporary limit of 24,100 until
April 2011, when a permanent annual limit will be
announced. The cap has already adversely affected companies
who are unable to recruit the skills required from India and
elsewhere.
The interim limit was introduced to stop a rush of last minute
applications ahead of the annual limit being introduced in
April next year and the Border Agency has been working
