2. HOW TO INSTALL A WORDPRESS
THEME
 Installing a WordPress theme can be easy or difficult,
depending on the theme and it’s
availability in the WordPress themes directory.
There are three ways for installation process
1) Automatic installation
2) Semi-manual installation
3) Manual installation

3. AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION
The automatic installation process comes very handy
with published themes, but sometimes things fail or
themes are not available.
Installing a WordPress theme using the built-in installer
is quite easy:
The first thing you need to do when you want to install a
new WordPress theme is to login to your site admin page.

4. once there,
1.go to Appearance -> Themes.
2. Click on the Install Themes button.
3. Type the name of your desired theme in the input field
and click Search.

5. 4. WordPress will display all found results. Click
the Install Now link under the desired theme.

6. 5. WordPress will display the status of the install and present you
with some options. Click the Activate link to set the newly installed
theme as your site theme.

7. SEMI MANUAL INSTALLATION
In case you have a theme archive on your
computer , you can install a WordPress theme
by uploading the archive directly and
WordPress does the rest:

8. 1. From your WordPress dashboard, navigate to
the Appearance > Themes menu.
2. Click on the Install Themes button.
3. Click on the Upload link

9. 4. Navigate and select the theme file on your computer. Its
name will be displayed in the input field.
5. Click the Install Now button and WordPress will attempt
to install the theme.

10. 6. WordPress will display the status of the install and
present you with some options. Click the Activate link to
set the newly installed theme as your site theme.

11. MANUAL INSTALLATION
If automatic installation fails, or you want to install a theme that is
not available in the WordPress directory, you’ll need to use this
alternative route for installing your theme.
You will need to know several details about your server / hosting
account:
• server address / domain name
• cpanel username
• cpanel password
• location of your WordPress installation inside the cpanel account
(usually directly into the public_html folder or some folder inside
this)

12. 1. We are using Mantra in this example, so we have to
download it. You need to do the same with your
desired theme.

13. 2. Save the theme archive on your computer (in case
you don’t already have it)

14. 3. Login to your cpanel account. Click on file manager
and Select your directory root and click “Go”.

15. 4. Navigate to wp-content/themes. Then click on the upload options

16. 5.Browse your archive file from your computer location
and select it. Once uploaded click on the bottom link i.e.
Back-t0/home2/engine/public-html/prn .

17. 6. After getting back you should see the new theme archive. Click on
the extract option on the top to extract your archive file.

18. 6. Via the dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Themes. The
new theme should be displayed in the list.
Click the Activate link to enable it.

19. HOW TO INSTALL A WORDPRESS
PLUGIN
There are two ways to install WordPress Plugins via
WordPress interface.
Automatically.
Manually by upload method.

20. AUTOMATICALLY
Go to WordPress Admin Panel Dashboard » Plugins.
Click “Plugins” tab and then “Add New”.

21. Search the Plugin you want to install. let us install the
Plugin, Captcha .
Type the word, Captcha in the search box .
Click on Search Plugins .

22. A list of Captcha Plugins will appear.
Let us install the Plugin, Sweet Captcha,
Click Install Now

23. A popup will appear seeking permission
“are you sure to install a Plugin”. Click Ok.

24. Once the Plugin successfully installed you
can see the following screen shown in screen
capture. Click “Activate ”.

25. Look for the Plugin on the list

26. MANNUAL INSTALLATION
In this method you can upload a Plugin which you
have downloaded into your computer. Here is what
you need to finish manual installation.
Follow the above steps to access Plugins tab and
then click add new.

27. To start manual installation click “Upload”.
Browse the file and then click “Install Now” to
upload a zip file.

28. Once Plugin uploaded you’ll see the same
activation screen as shown in above method.
click activate Plugin.

29. IN SUMMARY
You must first be well
prepared, organized, and know your stuff.
But you also have to keep in mind the
basic structure of your websites. Before
installing any themes or plugin first go
through the documentation and
screenshots.
