3. Engagement activities
Community information sessions
• Open invite events in regional areas where people can ask questions and get answers
Stakeholder reference panels
• 4 panels made up of community members & experts to provide advice to the department
on certain issues ie. water purchasing, irrigation efficiency, environmental watering
Regional contacts
• People to handle queries from regional areas, provides a consistent point of contact who
can either deal with queries directly or forward queries to relevant areas
Consultations
• Asking selected stakeholders for assistance in policy and program development eg. the
preparation of program guidelines
Briefings
• Meetings to inform people about new programs
