F.E.W Waterproofing’s expert team are
experienced in identifying and treating
the cause of concrete deterioration,
whether due to carbonisation, chemical
attack or mechanical damage.
3. A project recently
completed by
F.E.W Waterproofing:
Repair concrete slab and existing waterproof
membrane which was used as overhead protection
for an underground Electronic Control Room.
Concrete roof had been landscaped into a public
access area.
4. Due to an existing defective waterproof
membrane within the concrete slab, water
ingress was occurring down the walls in the
underground electronic control room.
This emphasizes the importance of
using experienced waterproofing
applicators, products and
methodology.
6. Due to ageing, inferior waterproof membranes
lack flexibility and consequently cracks occur
at various points. This causes the membrane
to delaminate, decompose and/or deteriorate
over time.
Waterproofing membranes may delaminate
from a continually wet substrate, or a
substrate with a high moisture vapour
emission rate (MVER).
7. Common faults we see all the time with with
sheet membranes.
Sheet waterproof membranes delaminate at
joins/seams and also at area of turn ups.
8. F.E.W Waterproofing takes great care
inspecting all surfaces to be coated.
These must be thoroughly clean prior to installing a
waterproofing membrane.
Smooth, monolithic concrete surfaces are required for
proper membrane adhesion.
Surfaces must be free of voids, spalled areas, loose
aggregates, and sharp protrusions, with no coarse
aggregate visible.
9. F.E.W Team dug out the area above the water leak,
exposing the defective membrane demonstrating
delamination and broken seams/joins.
10. We spray applied Liquid Rubber waterproof membranes.
Watertight integrity, flexibility, adhesiveness and self-
healing characteristics of Liquid Rubber make it well suited
for repairing and restoring damaged waterproofing
membrane systems.
11. Liquid Rubber bonds to any surface to
create an impervious waterproofing
membrane.
Consisting of a highly elastomeric polymer
rubber infused with adhesives, Liquid
Rubber absorbs movement, minimizes
damage and separation, and is resistant to
wide temperature fluctuations.
