2. Since 2010 Hortonville Area School Districts
Transportation Dept. has been working to
improve air quality around the area of our
schools, and all areas affected with our
School Buses.
We have focused on two areas:
1) Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
2) Auxiliary Heaters – Reduction in Idle Time
3. By using the DPF, school buses are
emitting less pollutants in the air.
4. Less Idle Time to Warm Up
No Idle Time in Loading Zone at School
Bus warms quicker
Windows defrost faster
Less parent complaints about cold school buses
No need to plug bus in every night, no cords
to trip over.
Less Idle Time uses Less Fuel
Less Idle Time means Less Emissions
