The Pretty Little Girl Who Worked At The Dairy Queen
1. The Pretty Little Girl Who Worked At The Dairy Queen by Winston W Wallace
2. Gosh, I really don't remember the year it was or when I first seen That pretty little girl who worked at the Dairy Queen We were teenagers and just cruising by and somebody said stop "Lets check out this ice cream joint and the car hop " May I take your order please" she said with a smile "Looks like you guys have been traveling a mile"
3. " No, we live right here in town" I said " This is the only place in this burg that's not dead And by the way who are you, you're new on the scene" She smiled and said " I work at the Dairy Queen I take care of my grandma who lives down the street She is my best friend and she is so sweet We just moved into town and I know we are going to like it here The future is uncertain but tomorrow I do not fear So may I take your order, closing time is near"
4. "Hey, I love your granny story and all But I would like a beer that's about a foot tall I don't want to hear your sentimental crap We are all rats and life is but a trap And to me you are looking like cheese So excuse me if I tease This rodent is going to bring you to your knees How about a date tomorrow night if you please" With a sad look in her eyes she said " Living is for the living and dying is for the dead
5. If you had a brain it would be in you head If you were a duck you would be quacking For the absence of sense you are lacking When you talk your jaws are just jacking" Then she slapped me across the face " Don't you ever insult my grandma here or any place I was always taught to be kind and never mean" Said the pretty little girl who worked at the Dairy Queen
6. " But tonight a line you have crossed and it's not fair So keep talking if only you dare" I was so taken back I could only stare At the grit that seemed to fill the air And the resolve that I had just seen From the pretty little girl who worked at the Dairy Queen " I am so sorry" I said, my voice starting to choke "Just give me some fries and a cherry coke I was just trying to make a joke
7. I meant no harm I am just a guy from the farm Out on a Saturday night A turkey trying to take flight And it looks like I have crashed again Success is a distant relative while failure is my twin If it was not for loosing maybe I could win" "Look jerk, I don't want to be mean" Said the pretty little girl who worked at the Dairy Queen
8. " But life is just a reflection on the mirror of your soul And you have traded away what was once you gold The rusty stains of yesterday are the sheep in your fold And you have clothed your life in a fool's mold And the garments of your ignorance leaves me cold" I cracked up laughing "nobody talks like that Can I come over to your grandma's and chew the fat Maybe we can pop some corn and watch TV Sit on the couch just you and me If you won't act so smart we can have fun If it ain't been did it needs to be done I know you got some pretty hips And I am yearning for those lips
9. So lets wait until grandma falls asleep And I will fulfill a promise I have to keep" Meat is fat and meat is lean But have you ever been slapped by the girl from the Dairy Queen Some like it rare or well done Some want a daughter or a son But I just wanted to get the hell out of her way Go back to the farm and face another day I got corn to grow and pigs to wean And I don't want to see the girl from the Dairy Queen
10. No more, I have had it, it's all bull All push and no pull I hate women for evermore Close the windows and lock the door This turkey doesn't want to soar And you know it went on like that for a long time Her poetry never made rhyme
11. I never knew what she was talking about Be it whisper or shout But Life's illusions are some time shattered By dreams that mattered And it beats everything I have ever seen To know that I married That pretty little girl who worked at the Dairy Queen
