- 2. Making a basic plaid STEP 1 Split the threads into 3 sets of 2 .
- 3. Making a basic plaid STEP 2 Transfer the set on the extreme right (blue set) to the middle (between the yellow and red set)
- 4. Making a basic plaid STEP 3 Transfer the set on the extreme left (yellow) to the middle (between the blue and red set)
- 5. Making a basic plaid STEP 4 Repeat Steps 1 and 2
- 6. Making the complex plaid STEP 5 Tape over the basic plaid and separate the sets into 6 individual threads.
- 7. Making the complex plaid STEP 6 Retain the extreme left thread in the right hand. Transfer the extreme left thread over the thread next to it.
- 8. Making the complex plaid STEP 7 Loop the thread next it over and under the tread retained in the right hand to form a knot. OVER UNDER

- 10. Making the complex plaid STEP 9 After tying 2 knots with the first thread, move it away to the left. Repeat making a knot with the next thread while retaining the original thread in the right hand. UNDER OVER Original Tread

- 12. Making the complex plaid STEP 11 Tie the knot twice.
- 13. Making the complex plaid STEP 12 After tying 2 knots with the thread, move it away to the left. Repeat making a knot with the next thread while retaining the original thread in the right hand. Original Tread Threads moved away to the left.

- 15. Making the complex plaid STEP 14 When tying the knot, pull the original thread taut while pushing the knots side by side to each other. Knots side by side Original thread
- 16. Making the complex plaid STEP 15 Loop the last thread over and under the original tread that is retained in the right hand to form a knot. OVER UNDER
- 17. Making the complex plaid STEP 16 Tie the knot twice. The first row is completed.
