1. DT Process Journal Assessment
Filing my doorstop
October. 15th 2010 . Friday.
At this lesson, I went into the studio and did some work on
my door stop. The most work I did was define the edges and
smoothing the whole wood piece.
My wood piece was in a pretty
good round shape but I filed a
little of it down to make it a
perfect circle. I sanded the wood
piece on the sand board to make
it smooth.
The tools I used is a flat
handed file and a sand board. I
used the file to smooth the edges
and used the sand board to
smooth the flat surfaces.
I had an idea that maybe I should paint my door stop in
another way when I should paint it - which is what I might be doing
next lesson.
I worked quite well today. I tried to make the edges perfect
smooth.
The only 2 tools that I used were sand board and a file. My
door stop is nearly done but still needs a little work on the edges.
I was very excited doing my work, because I was proud that a
piece of wood turned into a door stop in not a long time.
The learner profile that I think was most appropriate for my
day in the DT studio is caring. I helped my friend a little on using
the disk sander.
File, never put it in your pocket, and never swing it around.
2. I felt great today, I’m quite proud of myself that I turned a
rectangular shaped piece of wood to a door stop...
