Position: Game Host Team Member
Role:         The role of a Game Host Team Member is to staff all Youth Alive services and
              events. This includes greeting guests and providing guest control, ensuring
              cleanliness, checking equipment, setting up games, getting involved in games
              and maintaing a welcoming atmosphere. As a Youth Alive Team Member
              serving at Ground Zero or Unleashed, you will be expected to exhibit a positive,
              friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and maintain the show quality of our
              facility and services.


Schedule:     Minimum requirement of two services per month. We request a committed
              schedule to serve a specific service time and location. We request a consistent
              schedule whenever possible, for example the first and third week of every month
              for Wednesday Ground Zero Services.


Reports to:   Service Coordinator for scheduled service


Time Required:        Each service requires a commitment of approximately three (3) hours.
              This allows for an arrival time one hour prior to service and up to you to arrive
              one hour prior to service and thirty minutes after service.


Commitment: Minimum (12) twelve months to allow time for relationships with students to form
              and to build trust.


Training Provided:
                  Initial orientation and hands-on training equivalent to two services where you
                  will be assigned a seasoned volunteer to shadow as well as be given a
                  thorough “walk through” of various departments and services offered to arm
                  you with information that may be requested from students or parents.
                  Weekly fifteen minute (15 min) pre-service meetings with Service
                  Coordinator.

                              oriented.


Responsibilities:
       Team:
          1. Pre-Service
                    a. Prayer for service, students and guests
                    b. 5 minute Order of Service Review with Service Coordinator
                    c. Pre-Service Duties:
                           i. 1st Pillar: Atmosphere & Appearance
                                     1. Cleanliness, Order & Neatness
                                            a. Clear of trash/debris/papers
                                            b. Trashes emptied
                                     2. Preparedness
                                            a. Know assigned zone and how games work
                                            b. Ready to welcome
                                            c. All game pieces, any furnishings in order. Battery
                                                check, electronic items on.
                                     3. Excellence
                                            a. “WOW” factor
                                            b. Inviting smiles
                                            c. Timeliness – Be in position when doors open!

                                     1. Review Agenda
                                     2. Understand Order of Service
                                     3. Ensure no outdated materials lying around
                                     4. Clarity of current events and upcoming events including
                                        dates, times and locations and where to find additional

                                     1. Be Prayed Up…Pray for opportunities to connect for both
                                        volunteers and students
                                     2. Be available
                                     3. Be polite and inviting

                            6. Know and understand how all games work and how to get
                                kids connected with each other when engaging in specific
                                game or activity.
                     iv. 4th Pillar: Passion & Excitement
                            1. Sermon topic – pre study
                            2. Stay focused on vision
                            3. Be interested
                            4. Be contagious, set the mood/tone from first contact
     2. Service
           a. Opening – doors unlocked and all in position 30 minutes prior to service
           b. Guest Assistance & Game Host
                      i. Guide and direct students to various activity options. Create your
                         zone atmosphere as fun and engaging.
                     ii. Smile and be available for any questions
                     iii. Help students find areas that accommodate any needs (any
                         physical or visual impairements)
                     iv. Once teaching begins, begin to collect and clean up all games and
                         game pieces, being mindful of proper storage.
           c. Post service
                      i. Look for opportunities to serve and encourage students
                     ii. Pick up any visible trash
                     iii. Return any lost items to Youth Office in Main Youth Lounge with
                         date and service time, name if known
     3. Recruiting
           a. Open Positions
                  Be aware of open positions in your team and department and take
               initiative to find people to fill those roles. Support special recruiting efforts
               as planned
