Position: Game Host Team Member
Role: The role of a Game Host Team Member is to staff all Youth Alive services and
events. This includes greeting guests and providing guest control, ensuring
cleanliness, checking equipment, setting up games, getting involved in games
and maintaing a welcoming atmosphere. As a Youth Alive Team Member
serving at Ground Zero or Unleashed, you will be expected to exhibit a positive,
friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and maintain the show quality of our
facility and services.
Schedule: Minimum requirement of two services per month. We request a committed
schedule to serve a specific service time and location. We request a consistent
schedule whenever possible, for example the first and third week of every month
for Wednesday Ground Zero Services.
Reports to: Service Coordinator for scheduled service
Time Required: Each service requires a commitment of approximately three (3) hours.
This allows for an arrival time one hour prior to service and up to you to arrive
one hour prior to service and thirty minutes after service.
Commitment: Minimum (12) twelve months to allow time for relationships with students to form
and to build trust.
Training Provided:
Initial orientation and hands-on training equivalent to two services where you
will be assigned a seasoned volunteer to shadow as well as be given a
thorough “walk through” of various departments and services offered to arm
you with information that may be requested from students or parents.
Weekly fifteen minute (15 min) pre-service meetings with Service
Coordinator.

2. Service
a. Opening – doors unlocked and all in position 30 minutes prior to service
b. Guest Assistance & Game Host
i. Guide and direct students to various activity options. Create your
zone atmosphere as fun and engaging.
ii. Smile and be available for any questions
iii. Help students find areas that accommodate any needs (any
physical or visual impairements)
iv. Once teaching begins, begin to collect and clean up all games and
game pieces, being mindful of proper storage.
c. Post service
i. Look for opportunities to serve and encourage students
ii. Pick up any visible trash
iii. Return any lost items to Youth Office in Main Youth Lounge with
date and service time, name if known
