This document provides an outline and reading list for studying management theory. It covers 6 themes: 1) defining theory, 2) comparing theory to paradigms, 3) the interplay of theory and method, 4) justifying theories, 5) publishing theory papers, and 6) debates about theory. The reading list includes over 60 sources on theory development, publishing, and major theories. The document aims to equip readers with knowledge on conceptualizing, developing, and disseminating management theories.
