2. Prerequisites
• Latest version of VMPlayer.
• If U don’t have, get it from here -
www.vmware.com/go/downloadplayer
• Windows 8 Consumer Preview .iso file.
• U can get it from here –
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-
us/windows-8/iso
• Both are free.! So all you need is internet
to download them..!!
3. Install and open the VMware player to
get this window. Now click on “Create a
New Virtual Machine”.
5. Select MS Windows and Windows7 and
click Next.
P.S : The latest version of VMware player may have the windows 8 in top-down menu.
6. Now give a name to your virtual machine
and save it in your preferred location.
*Tip : It is advised to store the virtual machines outside your host OS disk drive.
7. You’re almost done with creation of your VM and
now you can either customize hardware or click
“Finish”.
8. Now you’ll return to VMware player main window
after creating new VM. Click on “Edit VM Settings”.
9. This shows the VM Settings window.
Here click on CD/DVD (IDE).
10. Now click on “Browse…” to locate
your Windows 8 CP .iso file.
11. This shows the window to locate and select
your Windows 8 .iso file. Click “Open” to
mount it on VM DVD drive.
22. Now you're done with your work and
Windows 8 continuous its own.!
23. Alright, this is it.
Now, sit back. Have a cup of
Coffee/tea/whatever you want and relax.
Comeback after sometime to see the
following screen..
P.S : Windows may restart once or twice in the process of completion of installation.
27. Final thing : Fill in the appropriate
fields and click Finish.
28. Now windows will finalise your settings
and prepares for the start screen

Desktop in windows 8 looks like the below snap on left and
windows explorer is little different than that of windows 7’s.

more stats than windows 7’s task manager
but the system properties is same as the
old one.!

• Microsoft’s new Metro UI from Win phone
brings new look to PC but its more suitable
for touch based devices than for the PCs.!
• Use, copy and share Win8 CP as long as MS
allows it and then switch to free and open
source GNU/Linux.!
• Because still the Windows is same old virus-
prone, insecure, instable, poorly debugged
set of device drivers.!!(Really, no offense meant)
• Torvalds’ words at last-
