Vision
Accelerated development through issue based research solutions
Mission
Promoting collaborative issue based research initiatives in social,
biological and natural sciences areas with cooperation of public,
corporate and development (non-government) sectors.
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
QAU & NBS
Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
• Objectives
1. Fulfillment of corporate, public and development sectors’
social responsibility to collaborate with research
institutes for cost effective innovative solutions
2. Establishment of Bio Resource Centre for the
demonstration of bio-based agro-tech practices
3. Coordination and collaboration with researchers
(students, teachers and professionals) for testing
researched ideas at corporate field research stations
4. Encourage and support innovative and replicable ideas
of researchers to develop spin off companies

Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
• Activities against Objectives
– Objective 1 Fulfillment of corporate social responsibility to collaborate with
research institutes for cost effective innovative solutions
Activities
1. NBS already announced and initiated work on the
establishment of constructed wetland for wastewater treatment
of QAU hostels (Cost 4.5 million)
2. NBS also provided furniture for an office and intended to
provide some lab equipment for initiating Bio-tech lab
3. Development of irrigation system for effective utilization of
biologically treated waste water for agriculture
4. Introduction of Integrated farming system to generate income
for meeting running expenses and executing research trials
5. Wastewater treatment related research initiatives with QAU
researchers
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
QAU & NBS
Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
– Objective 2 “Establishment of Resource Centre for QAU Bio-
Technology Park”
Activities
1. Introduction of indigenous agro-cottage industries for
further research and income generation for the
meeting the recurring costs and establishment of
further research facilities
2. Involving research scholars and professionals for
further improvements and replication in rural areas
3. Associating social scientists and non profit NGOs
sector for replicating improved technologies in rural
areas
QAU & NBS
Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
– Objective 2 “Establishment of Resource Centre for QAU Bio-
Technology Park”
Activities
4. The technologies include: Honey Bee keeping, Mushroom
cultivation, Vermi-composting, Bio-composting, Organic
fertilizers formulation and other Bio-products like Humic
Acid etc., Organic orchard and Organic Kitchen gardening
like vegetables, herbs and flowers
5. The technologies will be introduced in three phases:
6. Developed ideas or technologies with this collaboration
researchers will be supported and facilitated to initiate
their spinoff companies
QAU & NBS
Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
– Objective 3 “Coordination and collaboration with researchers (students,
teachers and professionals) for testing researched ideas
in the field to promote entrepreneurships ”
Activities
1. The collaboration will also support new ideas
irrespective to the fields mentioned above on the bio-
tech resource centre for research and testing to
generalize for industry, agriculture or other fields
2. Similarly the collaboration will provide conducive
environment for protection of intellectual property
rights and developing entrepreneurship
QAU & NBS
Collaboration
Developing Issue Based R&D Culture
• NBS Required facilitations
from QAU to initiate Bio-Tech Resource Programme
– Area requirement for Sustaining the programme
Applied Research for Socio-economic Prosperity
-For economic sustainability NBS required
adjacent area of the wastewater
treatment facility as depicted in picture to
carry on its integrated farming activities
and formulation of Bio-Tech Resource
Centre inclusive of agro-based cottage
industries
-The area will remain under the utilization
of QAU and NBS collaboration minimum
20 years to lay solid foundations for carry
on associative activities of corporate and
academic sector
