• Monocular depth cues

• Look around and find 3 different objects
• 1 very close
• 1 a long way away
• 1 somewhere in between

4. Depth perception
• The only way we could have done that
exercise is by using depth cues
• This means we look at how deep into a scene
an object appears to be

6. Depth cues
• Depth cues are those things that tell us how
‘deep’ into a scene something is
• There are 2 kinds of depth cues
• Monocular- these can be seen using only one
eye
• Binocular- you need to use 2 eyes to
understand these

• Relative Size
• Texture gradient
• Linear perspective
• Height in the plane
