1. Applied Kinesiology
Your chiropractor will incorporate applied kinesiology (AK) into your chiropractic
care at this level. Applied kinesiology is a 100% natural method of testing brain
and neurological function, and muscle balancing, in order to evaluate areas of
dysfunction within your body. Once assessed, your chiropractor will work towards
restoring the balance of structural, chemical and mental factors, which together
form the 'triad of health,' in order to help promote long-term permanent change
towards complete wellness. AK is primarily concerned with these three factors as
when a person suffers from ill-health, at least one of these factors, if not all three,
are involved. The principle behind AK is therefore to analyse these three factors
and treat those that are disrupted.
To find out more about AK and what to expect from an AK session. Ask your chiropractor
2. Start taking Probiotic Combocillus
This high quality supplement by Metabolics provides a wide range and substantial
quantities of ‘friendly’ bacteria for your stomach and intestines. This product contains
bacteria in both Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria forms in order to help improve your
health. If you have taken antibiotics, it is particularly important to increase your doses
of this product as antibiotics kill bacteria and disrupt the balance between ‘good’ and
‘bad’ bacteria in your intestines. This product helps restore the healthy balance of
bacteria. It is dairy-free and is best kept in the refrigerator to sustain active
bacteria. Please contact reception for more information or to purchase this product.

3. Start taking Vitamin D supplements
Over recent years Vitamin D has been the subject of countless studies linking its
relevance to a healthy immune system and its ability to support a vast array of conditions
including asthma, heart disease, depression, multiple sclerosis and cancer.
Our primary source of this amazing nutrient is the sun’s UVB rays, which the human
body converts into vitamin D in the skin. It is important to understand however that
vitamin D is only produced on the trunk of the body – this means that to reap its
rewards you need to expose your body from your neck down to your waist to sunlight.
During winter months when quantity and quality of sunlight is lacking, or if you are
unable to spend a minimum of 30 minutes a day in sunlight at any time during the
year, we recommend taking 5-10,000 mg Nutri vitamin D3 drops – the best quality
vitamin D supplement on the market. Please contact reception for more information
or to purchase this product.

5. Reduce wheatand dairy products in your diet
What food you consume can have a positive or negative impact on your
health and well-being. Much research has focused on wheat and dairy due to the
negative effects associated with them. Research shows that wheat and dairy are linked
to bowel irritation (IBS), digestive disorders, mineral problems, food intolerance,
osteoporosis, sinus problems, ear infections, type 1 diabetes, acne and more, as they
are difficult for the human body to digest. Wheat is highly sprayed with chemicals and
pesticides and is heavily processed. With the wheat germ removed from the grain
during processing, its nutritional content is greatly reduced, leaving the body less
equipped to process toxins incurred from chemical spraying and the refining process.
As a result, the liver gets overwhelmed and stores these toxins in the body’s fat cells.
Moreover, gluten, the wheat protein, is hard to digest. Poor digestion can cause
constipation, meaning the body is unable to expel toxins and unwanted waste. As toxin
levels rise, the body adapts by creating fat cells in order to maintain and assist with the
storage of toxins. Looking at dairy products, whole organic dairy products are better than regular dairy
products as they contain less pesticides, hormones and antibiotic residues, however even organic dairy
products still carry the threat of potential health risks, especially for children.
- Please click on each topic below for further information: Dairy Products, Grains & Seeds
Replacing wheat and dairy products with those more beneficial to your health is not as problematic as it
may first appear. Supermarkets and health food shops now stock a growing range of wheat, gluten and
dairy free products. Goats, coconut and almond milk are good dairy milk substitutes. Similarly, almonds,
tofu, soybeans, leafy greens, sesame seeds and broccoli are high in calcium.

At this level, you should ideally be working towards increasing the intensity of your daily activity. You are
still keeping to 2 hours a day, but with the aim of achieving more within that time frame. For example, if
you walk further in the same time or reach your destination in less time than before, then you are
increasing your speed and intensity of activity, which is beneficial for your overall health and well-being.
