• Track/Run-Up(Mondo)
• Throwing Ring(Concrete)

4. Attire
• Runners, spikes, throwing shoes
• Spandex, breathable clothing, shorts in
summer

5. Equipment
• Runners, spikes, throwing shoes
• Discus, shot-put, javelin, hammer

6. Discus Technique and Safety
• Begin with the standing throw and then
progress into the full turn.
• Throw out of a throwing cage if possible to
reduce possibility injuring others.

7. Rules
• One can enter the ring from any position
desired.
• One must leave the ring through the back half
with control after the implement has landed.
• Throw far.

8. Type of Athletes
• Success, and goal oriented, high achieving
individuals.
• Positive outlook on life.
• Self motivated.
• Calm and easy under pressure.
