Drew is a visual learner who learns best by watching demonstrations and using visual tools like charts, graphs, diagrams and pictures. As a visual learner, Drew can easily remember procedures and content by picturing them as a series of images rather than words. Drew's favorite learning tools include charts, graphs, flow charts, whiteboards to layout networks and problems, and exercise videos to analyze lifting techniques.

2. 3 Styles of Learning
Typically there are 3 styles of learning:
● Kinesthetic- hands on learners that are usually physically
adept, and learn best by acting out or playing games to
help learn a task or concept
● Auditory- learn best by listening and taking notes, following
oral instructions, listening for patterns, and reading aloud
● Visual- [the best style ;)] learn best by watching a
demonstation. Charts and graphs can be a visual learners
best friend, as they tend to remember what they see more
often than what they hear.

● Visual (also called spatial) learners tend to think of things
in the form of pictures or mental movies.
● Maps, diagrams, graphs and pictures in place of text tend
to “stick” better. When given directions, visual learners can
picture what and where they are and where they need to
go next.
● Being a visual learner, typically, makes it easier to
memorize procedures or content because you see
everything as a picture or series of pictures rather than
words you have to memorize.

4. Tools of a Visual Learner
My favorite tools for learning are:
● Charts, graphs and flow charts. For processes the more that I can
see, the better I can understand the who, what, when and how. Its
harder for me to focus on the trees when I don't understand the
forest. Once I get the forest I can focus on the trees.
● White boards! When I'm at work and trying to work up a solution/fix to
a problem, my first stop is always the closest white board. I can layout
the network and trace out where exactly the break or bottleneck is at.
● Video, I typically try to use when I'm learning new, or improving,
techniques in the gym. For me, watching myself try a certain
movement/exercise helps me understand where I am lacking and
where I need to focus on during the lift. Usually, I reserve the videos
for squat snatches and cleans.
● There are more tools out there for visual learners however, these are
what work best for me!
