2. Hardcore music fans can collect records and art buffs can collect paintings. But for the architecture
lovers out there, the thing you love (buildings!) is mostly definitely too big to take home. Luckily,
designers are coming up with all sorts of ways to fill your home with architecture, whether it's
through pure toys or something marginally more useful like, say, a modernist dollhouse shelf or
skyline-shaped desktop organizers. Some have pretty uninspired names (e.g. a puzzle called
"Home"), others pile on the puns ("Blockitecture"! "Stalaclights"!), but most won't break the bank.
Here's a look at nine of the most creative recent releases.
3. Deskstructure by Hector Serrano lets you store desk supplies in tiny porcelain models of a city
skyline and warehouse buildings. Each set is priced at $58.
Ittyblox by Shapeways makes it easy to build an entire mini city with 3D-printed buildings inspired
by the architecture of real cities. Prices range from $6 for one Miami Art Deco hotel to $93 for a
collection of seven "New York buildings."
Stalaclights by David Graas is a series of 3D-printed bulb shades inspired by Art Deco skyscrapers.
Each bulb shade is about $195; the clustered version is roughly $162.
4. Brutal London by Zupamarket pays homage to the lost symbols of London's Brutalist heritage with a
collection of five paper cut-out sculptures--there's also a set dedicated to Polish modernist
architecture. The buildings cost about $5
