This document provides instructions for creating and optimizing a Facebook personal and business page. It begins by explaining how to set up a personal Facebook profile, including uploading photos and videos. It then describes how to create a Facebook business page and customize it with a cover photo and timeline pictures. Finally, it offers tips for optimizing a business page through regular posting, ads, polls and events to engage more users.

9. To add information to your profile, provide your academic background
like your school where you finished high school, university, your current
employer, the city you currently reside and your hometown
33. Choose the video that you would like to
upload from your computer files

completely into your Facebook page
35. After uploading the video completely, you will receive a
notification on your window screen and by email that the
newly uploaded video is ready to view

corner of your Facebook page and choose
‘Privacy settings’

would like it to be public or not and whether you would like your
profile to be searchable by the public or not by clicking on ‘Edit’ found
across each section

67. At the bottom portion of your Facebook
page, click on ‘Create a page’
68. Click on ‘Company, Organisation or Institution’. Choose the industry
that your company belongs from the dropdown menu provided. Enter
your company name and tick ‘I agree to Facebook Page’s Terms’.
Click on ‘Get Started’ to proceed to the next step
69. You can add a photo to your company, organisation or institution
business page by clicking on ‘Upload from computer’ or ‘Import from
website’. Click on ‘Save photo’ to proceed to the next step

where you have saved it in your computer

timeline picture from your computer files

editing the photo, save it in your computer for it to be ready for
uploading into your Facebook business page timeline
85. Go to the ‘What’s new’ section of your business page. You
can choose whether you want to post a Status, Photo or
Video, Event, Milestone, Question

example, if it is an event, provide the name of the event, details,
place, ticket and the schedule of the event

timeline as soon as you click on ‘Post’

of your post. For example, if it is a status simply type in

Establish a good and reputable business profile
Upload a cover photo and profile photo that depicts the

Invite as many friends that you can so that you page
will be visible to as many people
Invite email contacts to add the visibility of your
business page

that you do the following:
Share your business page to other Facebook users
Post updates regularly to boost the online presence of
your business page
Add an advertisement as necessary
Create poll to get information whether you are reaching
your target audience or not

Create a competition to invite people to visit your page
Create an interest list to extend your connection to
other Facebook users
Join groups and create groups to invite people to come
and see what your business page has to offer

The times are before work and after work, this is when
most people are likely to engage with you, Weekends
are the appropriate times to post content on your
business page.
However You should post at least 5 times a
day, morning, mid morning, afternoon, after work and
evening

If you prefer to upload a photo, after clicking on ‘Upload a Photo’ simply choose the photo that you would like to upload from your computer. If you prefer to take a photo of yourself, after clicking on ‘Take a Photo’ your built-in computer camera will take a snapshot of you and such will automatically be uploaded to your Facebook page.
After you type in your status or added a photo or video or added a place or life event, click on ‘Post’ on the lower right hand portion of the box
Your photo should be in .jpg, .bmp, .png, .gif, and .tiff formats and does not exceed 15MB in size. Wait until the photo is uploaded completely into your Facebook page
