own budgets – they hire creative and technical production

administrators.
●Often their films are co-productions with other small
companies (The Eagle with Focus Features)
●Often their films are financed by deals with bigger

●Often their films receive funding from official bodies

Competitors
Film4 Productions cinema releases are in competition for
ticket sales and video purchases with everything else released
in the cinema and later on DVD.
●Although they have grown smaller since 2002 they are still a
leading player in the UK film production market, involved in
the production of up to 12 films a year
●They have the benefit of their own television channel – Film 4
– as a guaranteed distribution outlet.
●Their UK Competitors – like Warp Films or Celador Films –
are also sometimes their partners in production
