Thorough History wine has been made and served
around the globe.
Many parts of the world use wine as part of their
culture and religion.
The wine industry is a very strong and established
industry and wine grapes are grown in most
continents around the world.
Very common place for wine to accompany food
orders. Throughout history wine has also been
collected. This process is called cellaring and is
very popular all over the globe with some bottles
collecting large sums of money.

many, contrasting flavours and textures to

It is more common to cellar a wine to
collect than to drink.(at a later date)
Some cellared wines can cost $500 +
Some wines age in the bottle and are
best to cellar before consuming however
some wines especially young wines can
deteriorate in the bottle.

improve in price with age. These fine
wines or desireable wines can fetch
incredable sums of money at auction.
This type of cellaring /collecting is
considered an investment.
A bottle of Lafite-Rothschild sold for
an average amount of 490 USD, that
same bottle six years later sold for 2’586 USD

a food resource and as a collectors item.

e.g. bread fruit etc.

sacrifices and or religious gatherings.

growing to meet customer demand.

As wine plays such a major role in
everyday life and religion it is relatively
safe to say it holds a commanding role in
the future of world markets.
Wine no doubt will not lose its investible
qualitys but still will retain its importance as
a food.
