SnipCrunch is a social shopping start-up launched in April 2011 by two UC Berkeley undergraduates. It allows students to select interests and receive product recommendations from peers through a personalized feed. Revenue comes from affiliate commissions from sales on partner sites and digital advertising on the site. In the first two weeks since launch at UC Berkeley, the site had 10,000 visitors, 100,000 page views and 800 registered users.
