  1. There are really two components- the first component is social- I like to think of this as “community” People that are grouping together. One of my favorite authors, Seth Godin call this TRIBES- tribes of like-minded individuals that gravitate together.The second component is media creation- companies know all about media creation- they have been advertising for over 100 years. They are just learning how to combine the two- creation of media combine with the creation of communities. I’d like to share with you some of the challenges, some of the opportunities social media provides- and then I will share with a little bit about how I am helping lawyers use social media.

  3. 2007 Fortune 500’s Best Places to WorkReally cheesey song comissioned, used at a company retreat. The song was leaked, and somebody posted the audio on Above the Law- the #1 legal blog in the US.
  4. When this happened- what do you think Nixon did? Did they laugh it off and let it go?They fought it, and the recording went viral. As counsel- it is important to understand the power of social media before you try and control it.
  5. So I wrote Social Media for Lawyers: Twitter Edition, a step by step guide for using these tools to bring in business.
  6. -spoken all across the United States-landed major consulting work-will be flying to Australia and New Zealand to speak in March.
  7. Go where the people are.
  8. Largest demographic is males ages 30-40- that is an extremely attractive demographic.Twitter is like a big cocktail party, you pick the conversations you listen to.
