Is Article Marketing Dead:
Adrian Morrison Explains Getting Leads with the Help of Article Marketing
Directories
Article Marketing was and is still considered one of the best sources to get links. But, do you
know after arrival of Panda algorithm by Google, nothing has been affected worse than article
directories (Ezine, Hubpages, GoArticles etc). In a few days of Panda, article directories lost
their visibility on search rankings, thereby affecting so many other blogs and websites whose
traffic depends on links generated by these article directories.
The worst affected in this scenario are those websites who give scam, machine generated and
spinned content. Another reason why websites' rankings declined was articles too stuffed with
keywords that they lost their original message. In such scenario, many website owners criticized
policy of Google. Some went to the extent claiming that if it is the case, then Google must ban
itself as it is the source where all this scam is being rotated in some or other way, sigh!
According to Adrian Morrison, those who believe that article marketing is finished must think
again. Article marketing is present and is as essential for any marketing campaign as it was a
year ago. However, the tricks and trends have been changed with the advent of Google Panda.
Most common changes that have occurred within these months include:
No spam, only original content
You cannot completely rely on article directories
you can rely on spinned content
You cannot post plagiarized, duplicated and second quality content
How it worked Before Panda:
Articles were written in bulk, however there was very little or no change in the
content. They replaced keywords with another version of the same keyword (e.g.
"Business card holder" was replaced by "holder for business card", "cheap business
card holder", "top ten trends in business card holders" etc.)
Anchor text, links to websites and lead generating links were dispersed within
content, at the end of the content and with submitted image.
Mostly links were placed with hyperlinked text, leading to the site or blog of the
writer.
Article marketing worked under strategy that reader would click the hyperlinked text
(sounding something like "read more from this author").
According to Adrian, the strategy still works in same way. The only changing that has come
includes:
Only original, well researched and authentic content
keywords placed at suitable places and in reasonable proportion

How Article Marketing Works Today:
There is no doubt in the fact that article marketing still serves its purpose. However, there is a
slight but fair change in the overall strategy.
Article Directories:
These are still a great source. However, now you cannot completely rely on article directories.
After arrival of Google Panda, there was a tremendous decrease in rankings:
HubPages ranking (-24.3% in 3 months)
Buzzle.com ranking went down to 30% in 3 months
Associatedcontent.com went to -40.7% in 3 months
EHow.com went down to -13.9% in 1 month, then went up to +3.5% in three months (probably
because they enhanced their services and adapted with Google Panda)
Ezine articles went down to -31.8% in three months
Articlebase.com went down to -29.5% in three months
Keeping in mind these stats, one can understand how crucial it is to upload fair, well organized
and original content.
Guest Posts:
This is another excellent source of getting leads. You can submit guest posts (regularly) to
reputed blogs. This will help you establish a fan following. After repeatedly reading quality
content from you, people will start trusting your information; as a result, they will search for
more from you.
Comments Links:
Leave valuable comments on quality blog posts. Do not generate spam and vulgar comments. Do
not generate comments like "I agree with you, I like your posts please follow my blog". (Or) "I
find your post valuable, it is very good, I have written something similar please have a look".
These kinds of comments are immediately banned by the site owner. Instead, try to be
intellectual, use your creative side and consider as if you are posting snippets.
