2. The Giver Mrs. DuBose read to the class The Giver. It is about a utopian city that has no emotion. Jonas flees from the town which causes all feeling, color, and memories to come back to the people. This story has taught me to express emotions in any way.
3. Gathering Blue After Mrs.DuBose read The Giver, I was inspired by her work, so I read Gathering Blue. It is about a town where if you have any defects or differences, you would be put in the Fields of Punishment for the beasts to eat you.
4. Number The Stars The fifth graders had to read Number The Stars. It is during WWII and Annemarie’s best friend Ellen Rosen is a Jew. So when the Nazi soldiers begin relocating Jews, Annemarie and her family must do something to protect the Rosens.
5. Messenger Messenger was the last in the series of Gathering Blue and The Giver. Messenger is about a boy named Matty who discovers that he has the power of healing. He is willing to pay the price for peace in all of the communities.
6. The End I would like you all to read any of Lois Lowry’s books.
