2. 1 INTRODUCTION
This document provides information for the Cambium Networks PTP 300 Series System
Release PTP 300-05-02.

3. 4 NEW FEATURES
4.1 New 5.8 GHz region codes
System Release 300-05-02 supports the following additional regions:

4.2 Rationalised attribute names for password complexity rules
In 300-05-01, the syslog messages that report changes to password complexity rules are not
consistent with the display strings used to identify the associated complexity rules in the
web-based interface. The attribute names used in web-based controls and syslog messages
have been made identical in 300-05-02.
4.3 View Summary and Status Pages without Login
In 300-05-02, the existing "Disable Front Page Login" control name on the Web-Page
Properties page has been renamed as "View Summary and Status Pages without Login" to
more clearly express the purpose of the control, and the meaning of the Enabled and
Disabled options.
4.4 Security wizard control for cross-site request forgery protection
In 300-05-02, the existing Cross-Site Request Forgery (XSRF) Protection attribute has been
added to Step 7 of the Security Wizard. This provides an opportunity to select XSRF
protection whilst configuring HTTPS/TLS.
4.5 Security-related parameters in back-up and restore
In 300-05-02, the following attribute values have been added to configuration back-up and
restore:

Cross Site Request Forgery Protection
These parameters are associated with the security configuration, but they do not include
critical security parameters (CSPs). Note that the Identity-Based User Accounts attribute is
not saved, and so a unit will always be configured for role-based user accounts after
restoration of stored configuration.
5 PROBLEMS AND LIMITATIONS CORRECTED
5.1 PTP 300 units display an alarm following upgrade to 300-05-01
When a PTP 300 unit is upgraded to 300-05-01, the unit displays an alarm on the System
Summary web-page with text “The Web Features of this unit are not configured with
default values”, and the yellow warning triangle is displayed at the top of the navigation
bar. Furthermore, the TDD synchronisation feature cannot be enabled. The alarm can be
removed, and the TDD synchronisation feature can be restored, by erasing all configuration
data in recovery mode.
This problem has been corrected in 300-05-02.
Note that the problem does not affect PTP 500 units.
5.2 Syslog message is not sent when the syslog client is disabled
In earlier releases, a syslog message is not generated when the syslog client is disabled.
This has been corrected in 300-05-02.

5. 5.3 Syslog message Tx Max Power does not match attribute name
Maximum Transmit Power
In 300-05-02, changes to transmitter power are reported using the attribute name
Maximum Transmit Power, to match the attribute name on the System Status web-page.
5.4 Inconsistent read/write access in SNMP MIB
In earlier releases, some objects in the PTP 300 SNMP MIB have read/write access in the
application software, but are reported as read-only in the published MIB. This problem has
been corrected in 300-05-02.
In 300-05-02, the hTTPSAccessEnabled object in the SNMP MIB now has read/write access.
Also, the following objects in the SNMP MIB now cannot be set when SNMP Control Of
HTTP And Telnet is set to disabled:

5.5 User account names not reset by Reset To Factory Defaults button
In earlier releases, the Reset To Factory Defaults button on the Local User Accounts web-
page resets passwords of all identity-based accounts, and disables accounts 4 to 10, as
expected. However, the existing account names are not reset for accounts 4 to 10. In 300-
05-02 account names are correctly reset for all accounts.
5.6 SNMP MIB syntax errors
In earlier releases, the SNMP MIB contains some subtle syntax errors that are detected by
certain MIB browsers including Castle Rock SNMPc, Solarwinds Workspace, and NuDesign
Visual MIBrowser Pro. These syntax errors have been corrected in 300-05-02.
5.7 MD5 authentication problems in SNMPv3
In earlier releases, SNMP transactions using MD5 authentication fail occasionally,
sometimes resulting in a reboot of the ODU. This problem has been corrected in 300-05-02.

6. 6 KNOWN PROBLEMS OR LIMITATIONS
6.1 PTP-SYNC Cluster Master in Recovery mode
A limitation of Recovery Mode exists when TDD Sync is enabled and where the Cluster
Master is configured to provide cluster timing from its internal reference rather than from a
GPS source. When the Cluster Master is placed into Recovery Mode, the timing it supplies
to the Cluster Slaves is invalid. However, the Cluster Slaves will continually try and lock to
the invalid signal causing the entire cluster to operate incorrectly.
As a consequence, it is recommended to unplug the link between the Cluster Master PTP-
SYNC and the next PTP-SYNC before putting the Cluster Master into Recovery Mode. Doing
so will allow the Cluster Slave to continue operating at least for the TDD Sync holdover
period (10 min).
6.2 Passwords reset on upgrade to 300-05-02
System Release 300-05-01 introduced several improvements in password management and,
as a consequence of these changes, the password for the web-based management network
will be reset to the default (blank) value on upgrade from any release earlier than 300-05-
00.
Take care to set a suitable password following the upgrade from 300-04-02 or earlier
release to 300-05-02. Alternatively, enable the new identity-based user accounts, create
accounts as necessary, and set a suitable password for each account.
