2. My magazine cover looks
filled up and there is not
much White Space on it.
My Masthead is displayed
clearly at the top right hand
side of the page. The
masthead is easy to
remember, and is also the
same name as a music
player.
The image covers the full
page and has the band name
in a clear large text, which
sort of stands out with the
image.
The strapline – above the
masthead - highlights
important words by having it
written in a different font
colour: “UK’s Largest”. The
font is very professional
looking and appropriate for
that particular headline.
I have been consistent in keeping
the same fonts, and a consistent
font colour.
I have included a bar code but
not an appropriate price for the
magazine, this would be
something I would add if I were
to make the magazine again.
The main picture appears
alongside the masthead, This
suggests that my magazine will
feature heavily on the person in
the picture, and may entice the
customer to buy my magazine.The image covers the full
page and has the band
name in a clear large text,
which sort of stands out
with the image. If I where
to change the font, it would
be the colour as I feel it
clashes to much with the
main image.

similar to what you would
see in a professional
magazine.
• I have used pagination
• Pool quotes have been used,
this is what you would see
more often than not on a
professional music
magazine.

5.  I tried to target my magazine towards similar viewers of Kerrang and Q.
 This target audience are in a similar age group to me, and maybe older.
 This magazine is aimed at people who like alternative rock and pop, as
well as other music genres.

6.  Bauer Media Group may want to publish my magazine, as they publish Kerrang
and Q these two magazines are the two I tried to design my magazine from.
 My magazine could also be given as a free download to generate interest, this
could go out on the publishers website or a social networking site such as Facebook
or MySpace.
 Another small independent publisher could also take on my magazine
 If my magazine where to be published and sold in shops, super market chain, high
street retailers and music stores may stock and sell my magazine.

7. The target audience for my magazine is people similar to my age, this is because the results from my
questionnaire showed me half where aged between 16-18 and the other half are aged 19+. I decided
to stick to the results of my questionnaire and try and base my magazine on Q who have very
similar and have a much older target audience, due to the wide range of music they cover in the
magazine. Some of the other magazines I looked at where NME and Kerrang both of who have a
very similar target audience to mine, 16-19 year olds. Both these magazine are full of, Indie/Rock
and Screamo, I want my magazine to consist of the Indie/rock but not much of the Screamo

8. I used modern bands and artists.

9. From using Serif I have taught myself how to use and create what I hope a high standard and
satisfactory product; however i am rather pleased with how it turned out as I had never used
serif before. But comparing it to Publisher they seem very similar. Infact I find Serif much easier
to use with a wider range of functions available to use.

10. I feel I have learnt a great deal from doing my final product compared to my prelim task,
something I feel I have greatly learnt on is the layout and design for my magazine. From comparing
the final product to my prelim task I think they look totally different and the final product looks
10xs better.
