IEEEXtreme is a 24-hour programming competition for IEEE student members. IEEEXtreme 5.0 will be held on 22nd October 2011. Registration starts early September. More information on the competition can be found at www.ieee.org/xtreme or on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/ieeextremeFormat of the Competition:There will be approximately 15 to 20 questions released in periods of 24 Hour Competition. These technical problems varies in levels of difficulty, from easy, medium challenging to extremely difficult, to accommodate the different skill sets of undergraduate to graduate student IEEE members.IEEE Xtreme 4.0The competition has seen exponential growth since inception. Nearly 2500 IEEE members were involved in some form or fashion in the 2010 edition. This is 1000 more IEEE members than participated in 2009. 50 countries were represented in the competition, from all regions of the world. IEEE regions with the most teams were R8 and R10, with 152 teams from R8 and 323 teams from R10. We did have 129 teams from the USA, teams from R1-6 combined. 2nd and 3d Prize*Subjected to sponsors*Special Volunteer RecognitionRules will be shared shortly. Main criterion will be penetration (no. of students participated / Total no. of students) and creative marketing efforts.
